After you have created your first contracts, you will learn how to order charging cards in the Fleet Manager Portal.
Why are charging cards important?
- An active charging card is an important medium for a driver to authenticate at a charge point.
- An active charging card is a prerequisite for a driver to register and use the smartphone app.
Therefore, in order to enable charging and registration in the smartphone app, a valid charging card needs to be activated and linked to an active contract as you have already may have learned in Step 1. Creating a contract.
How can I order charging cards?
Only users with the role of Fleet Administrator and Fleet Manager are allowed to order cards. If you have one of these roles and want to order charging cards, you can easily do so through the Fleet Manager Portal by following these instructions:
- Please select the account button on the top right-hand corner.
- A field with multiple options will be displayed. Please click on Charging Cards.
- At the bottom right you can click on Order Charging Cards
- Please select the fleet group.
- Next, please select the quantity of the cards you want to order.
- Please provide the recipient's address for shipping.
Tip: You can also click on COPY ADDRESS FROM FLEET GROUP to take the default fleet group address and ease the process. - In the final step, you will be able to view the summary of your order. Once you click on Save & Finish the order will be confirmed and we will start shipping your charging cards to you.
What happens after I receive my charging card order?
Once you receive your card order, you can activate an charging card by linking the card to an active contract. The card can be activated:
- when you create a new contract with the new card or
- when you add the new card to an already created and activated contract without a card.
If you want to create a new contract with the new card, please check Step 1. Creating a contract.
If you already created a contract without a card, here is how to add a card to the contract:
- Please click on the contract that you want to add the card to. Please make sure that the contract is active.
- A sidebar will open on the right-hand side. Please scroll down to CARD.
- Please click on the pencil and click on Add Card.
- Please enter the card number and click on Add to Contract.
- The card is now in the authorization process. Please wait until the card changes the status to ACTIVE.
Once both the contract and card are active, the driver is able to use the charging card to charge at a charge point. Moreover, the driver is now able to register in the smartphone app.
